Adapter Fittings

The last major group of components used in fluid transfer systems are the Russell Adapter Fittings which are required to adapt the hose assemblies to whatever you are attempting to plumb.  As an example, if you are plumbing a fuel system you will need fittings to adapt your hose assemblies to the carburetor, to the fuel pump, a fuel filter, a fuel block (if used), and the fuel tank.  In most cases these components utilize pipe threads and you will use a Russell fitting  which screws into a pipe tapped hole that in turn permits the connection of the hose end.  In other cases, such as the carburetor or the fuel pump, these components utilize special threads which require a unique adapter fitting to permit a hose connection.

Russell offers a full line of these adapter fittings.  Adapter fittings that screw into pipe threads will require some type of thread sealing compound or TeflonÆ tape for sealing. Some other fittings offered by Russell will require an O-ring for sealing or in some cases (such as carb fittings) sealing washers
