These brakeline kits are all Street Legal to deliver the extra margin of safety required, and our precision double crimp technology ensures uncompromised fit.
Secondly, we provide fully assembled universal lines using our Powerflex #3 hose with #3 steel hose ends crimped on. We currently offer three styles of ends; straight, 90ƒ and with a banjo fitting. These pre-made hoses are available in 15 different lengths from 9-inches to 53-inches. The ends are double crimped to the hose and are available in either zinc plated steel or our Endura finish. These hoses can generally be utilized on almost any wheel cylinder or brake caliper by using one of Russell's brake adapter fittings.
The alternative to using our standard brake assemblies is to make up your own with our reusable Powerflex Hose Ends and Powerflex stainless braided Teflon hose. Russell currently offers three styles of Powerflex Hose Ends in the #3 size, the most common size used for brake lines. This includes a straight hose end, a 45ƒ hose end and a 90ƒ hose end.
Russell also now offers a Complete Brake Line Kit which provides 24-feet (4 6ft lengths)of 3/16" diameter stainless steel tubing, a typical assortment of #3 fittings, steel through-frame fittings, a set of high tech aluminum clamps for attaching the steel tubing to the frame, and a complete assortment of tube sleeves and nuts. This kit is patterned after kits which have been successfully sold for years to street rodders but have been a well kept secret to the rest of the automotive aftermarket. In actuality, this kit can be a bonus for any do-it-yourselfer who is building a ground up vehicle, whether it is a street rod, race car, street machine or a kit car.
Since 1993 Russell has offered flexible braided stainless steel brake hose assemblies which meet Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) specifications. This version is supplied by Russell as a complete assembled brake line with #3 hose ends double crimped to each end. The Powerflex hose with reusable ends which are assembled by the customer will not meet D.O.T. specifications and cannot be legally used on a street driven vehicle. Technically they are only legal for race vehicles and other off road applications.
