Common Types of Fittings

Elbow2little.jpg (2708 bytes)

These drawings graphically illustrate the various types of fittings which are commonly found in motorcycle plumbing systems.  The metric thread adapters are only found in Russell's brakeline series.  See the Russell catalog for specifics.  The two most common types of fittings found in the Russell line are the AN 37ƒ style and the fitting style with pipe threads on it.  AN 37ƒ refers to the angle of the sealing angle on the fitting and the hose end that it interfaces with.  Some industrial hose ends and fittings use a 45ƒ sealing angle and must not be used in conjunction with Russell hose ends and fittings.  Pipe thread fittings have been discussed previously.
