Adapter Fittings

The last major group of components used in fluid transfer systems are the Russell Adapter Fittings, which are required to adapt the hose assemblies to whatever you are attempting to plumb.  In many cases these adapters utilize pipe threads (National Pipe
Thread or NPT) to connect the hose end to the component (see chart  for pipe thread sizes).  In these instances, TeflonĘ tape must be used on the pipe thread, but must not be used on the AN threads.  Russell's fuel and oil line adapters are finished in our unique Endura™ finish, which simulates the appearance of stainless steel on a lightweight aluminum fitting.  Our brakeline adapters and banjo bolts are chrome plated steel fittings that help dress up any bike.

For import motorcycles, metric adapter fittings are also available. Russell provides fittings in most of thecommon metric thread sizes and pitches for brakelines, with either a European flare or a Japanese flare.  Maile adapters with a European flare, also known as a "bubble flare", are commonly found on BMW's, Ducatis and other European brands, and have a rounded, convex tip.  Male adapters with a Japanese flare, also known as an "inverted flare", have a recessed, concave tip.  Both are available in steel with our Endura finish.
